Alright, so it's been a hot minute since I've posted. The thing is, I had a fight with my brain as soon as I started this blog. "Who reads blogs in 2021?" "What if this is a big fat waste o' time?" "What if I run out of things to say?" (lol, yeah that will never happen) or "What if I...(big gulp), fail?"

Fail. At writing an amateur blog. That's I'm doing for myself as a personal accountability tool for self-growth. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is what I call a brain loop wired to fear failure.

Anyways, I digress.

The latest in my life is that I'm on a healing journey to re-wire my brain. I want to change my old mindsets so I can create new neural pathways that produce new outcomes. It's all very neuro-sciencey and fascinating at outset. But oh my gosh, is it not easy! The interesting thing is, my brain which has been wired to produce roadblocks when trying something new, wants to sabotage my efforts. I'm pretty astounded at its resistance. But ya know what, even though I'm battling myself, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna win...

I'm in this awesome program called "The Woman's School" and Lessons 1 and 2 are all about moving from dreams to goals. First, you have to identify your dream, and then you create concrete goals to get there. A lot of it is working on your routine, identifying what you love/hate (and curating your life accordingly), and almost grading yourself on areas of wellness in your life. One thing I've noticed with people who are almost beasts when it comes to accomplishing their dreams is that they don't waste time. They are not on social media, watching Netflix, or texting all the time. They are very clear (crystal clear) in their dream/goal/passion, and they spend every free waking hour (that they are not at their job or adulting) going after it. They also spend time around people who are also chasing their dreams and draw energy from others who have the same life drive.

It takes a lot of tenacity to go after one's dream. It also takes a lot of clarity, boldness, and brave decision-making.

If you don't know it, totally cool, I didn't know mine either until recently. Now ask yourself: what are my greatest roadblocks to securing my dreams?

I think often of the movie, "The Lion King." Maybe because it was one of my fave movies growing up and I had the sing-along VHS tapes. Or...
